  • 1.  What format do you use for your budgeting process?

We are looking to change our ERP system due to the sunsetting of Eden.  I was curious what everyone uses for their budgeting process - Excel, ERP or software outside your ERP?

If you DO use your ERP to create your budget, which ERP are you using and do you like it?

    Thank you,

We have Tyler MUNIS and have automated about 62% of the budget book by linking excel schedules directly to the MUNIS database.  There are 7 levels in the MUNIS budget module and as we move through the process, we refresh the excel schedules we use for reporting.   Added bonus is a majority of the work to load the budget into the ERP for the next year is done by the time we complete the budget process.

    Hi Jennifer,

We use Tyler MUNIS' central budgeting which we are pretty happy with.  Nice integration with the GL, easy for departments to enter their budgets.   We can bring in payroll data including fringe benefits.   They have a decision package function we're hoping to try out this year.  Only wish was a capital budgeting function – we use excel.  And I wish we could have more sophisticated ways to create a current year projection – even just taking 50% of budget and adding it to the current six months of actuals for example.   Good luck!
