GFOA has been working over the past few months to develop revised criteria for the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award and is currently seeking volunteers to form a pilot test group to provide feedback and test the draft criteria. The revised criteria encourage clarity of budget information, effective communication tools, transparency of budget decisions, and the production of a clear budget message that communicates key themes to public stakeholders.
GFOA is seeking current budget award participants, budget reviewers, and individuals not currently affiliated with or participating in the program. The time commitment for participation is expected to be approximately 8–10 hours over a three-month period to review materials and participate in virtual meetings to discuss feedback.
