We have a Motor Pool Internal Service Fund for vehicles and equipment. The motor pool fund purchases and owns all vehicles and equipment and leases them to the individual divisions. We calculate the annual lease amount by taking the cost of the vehicle adding and an amount for inflation and dividing by the expected useful life of the vehicle. This smooths out the cost of purchasing for the individual divisions and forces divisions to set aside funds each year for future purchases.
